Deacon Nick (Secular Franciscan of the Precious Blood) established “The Servants of the Lord Healing Community,” comprised of the
laity and religious both men and women. They follow in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi, devoted to the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ.
Deacon Nick was ordained May 8th, 1983 as a permanent deacon in the Holy Roman Catholic Church. He is married and has two children. Besides his normal duties as husband and father, he ministers in his parish (Our Lady of Mt. Carmel) in Yonkers, New York. He is the spiritual director of the parish youth group, he chaired the parish Prayer Group, and he established a 3rd Order Franciscan Community in his parish which later was established as a fraternity.
Deacon Nick was chairman of the Yonkers Conference of Permanent Deacons and was instrumental in bringing over 200 8th graders from Yonkers Catholic Schools for an evening retreat with the National Evangelization team.
He has given retreats for the men and women of his parish, for a group in North Carolina, and gives annual retreats for the youth in the beautiful Catskill Mountains. In conjunction with his family and parish duties, he is a full-time Catholic Chaplain for the State of New York Department of Corrections. He is a member of his parish men’s club, he is a member of the Anthony Maggiacomo Lodge #2320 of the Order Of The Son’s Of Italy in America. He is also a member of “CIAO”.
Deacon Nick has been appointed Chaplain secretary and Grand Ceremonial Master, traveling companion to the Governor General of Jerusalem for the United States of America. He has been awarded the highest honor of the Order. “The Order of Noble Guard”. By decree of the Governor General of the Order, he has been given the title of Grand Officer and is now Deputy Governor of The East of the Order. He is also the author of SHED FOR OUR SALVATION a meditation on the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus.
